Job Description POSITION TITLE: House Manager – Community Living DIVISION: Community Living SUPERVISOR: QIDP CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt STATUS: Full-Time PURPOSE: Supervise direct care staff and coordinate the day-to-day activities and maintenance of the group home.
Maintain communication flow within the Agency and Community Living Services division.
The overall objectives are to provide a home environment that is as normal as possible and to foster the development of each client to their highest independence.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Supervise direct care staff to ensure the IPP is being implemented for each client.
Train staff in all programs, using lecture, role modeling, text, and other materials.
Coordinate the delivery of training and rehabilitation services.
Monitor implementation, and follow-up each clients Individualized Program Plan.
Schedule and chair interdisciplinary staff meetings as needed for program planning and review to meet program standards.
Oversee file maintenance and record keeping.
Participate directly in the recreational, therapeutic, and training activities of clients.
Serve as a liaison between clients, families, staff, professionals, and the community.
Safeguard clients and families' human and civil rights.
Maintain medications assuring adequate supplies are being maintained.
Assist clients in budgeting their funds.
Maintain adequate supply of all household items.
Accurately maintain petty cash.
Formally and informally assist clients with programming needs.
Provide services in compliance with State Board of Health Actively involve the clients in community events.
Display patience in all situations involving clients receiving services, staff members, parents, and others in the community.
Speak in an even, positive, and personal tone of voice when conversing with clients.
Must be capable of meeting the physical demands required by caring for the clients.
Physical requirements may include, but not be limited to: bending; reaching; stretching; lifting 25-50 pounds (depending on client) without assistance; grasping; visual acuity; running; walking; squatting, guiding; transporting; assisting with physical transfer; and manual dexterity to handle medications; and handling physical aggression as defined in NCI training.
Ensure that employees follow all departmental and agency policies as well as state and federal laws.
Respond to calls as needed as client issues arise.
Ensure a safe and sound environment.
Must be able and willing to use personal cell phone as needed, or company device as available for time entry.

Ensure all clients medical needs are met including but not limited to taking clients to medical, lab, and therapy appointments.
Communicate with nursing staff.
OTHER FUNCTIONS: Implement all programs in a timely manner.
Convene staff meetings, as needed.
Provide input and document monthly day provider/residential meetings.
Route any receipts to the Administrative Assistant.
Replenish household supplies, as needed.
Provide direct care staff with needed support.
Provide direct care, at minimum of 20 hours per week.
Document any personnel issues and route to the QIDP or Director of Resources.
Complete duties delegated by Supervisors.
Must be able to accept directives from supervisor and other management members.
Maintain confidentiality of all clients and staff.
Coordinate with business office to ensure payment of liability.
ENVIRONMENT: Potential exposure to bodily fluids, pests, contagious pathogens, and/or bed bugs.
QUALIFICATIONS: B.
S.
degree in a human service field preferred.
High School Diploma or equivalent required plus at least one year of experience with the MR/DD population, preferably in a residential setting.
Possess and maintain a clear criminal and driving record.
Maintain a valid Indiana driver’s license, insurance on personal vehicle (minimum of PLPD with Medical liability coverage), and maintain insurability as defined by the agency liability insurance carrier.
Must possess and maintain reliable transportation that meets state requirements for transporting clients.
Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining certification in CPR, First Aide, and NCI and perform if necessary, and Medication Administration.
Attend meetings and training as requested.
Become active in an organization of related professionals.
