About the Job:
The Application Development –iSeries Developer will be able to provide custom solutions of simple complexity to customers through the complete SDLC.
Write, configure, build and/or modify software, tools and/or custom programs and participate in unit testing of modified elements.
Develop skills in design, development, and problem solving.
Participate in training opportunities to further develop technical skills.
Develop logic skills necessary to learn iSeries language concepts and techniques as well as 3rd party software applications and tools.
Useful knowledge of structured application analysis, design, and database practices.
Learn and adapt to continuously changing environment.
Effectively communicate in a professional manner.
This role is able to provide design work by providing technical documents and flow charts for business understanding.
Supports business applications by troubleshooting and debugging existing applications.
Completes administrative tasks such as password enablement, account creation, printer and spool file management.
Monitors system performance and message/job queues.
What You’ll Be Doing: In this role you will perform functions including: * Design, develop applications as requested by customers * Attend meeting to gather requirements * Minor bug fixes * Assist customers with Queries/Reports * Monitor system performance and technical queues for errors * Learn iSeries programming languages to expand to improve skillsets * Work on multiple tasks with different customers simultaneously * Complete testing/regression testing of modified/created applications * Consult with internal customers and identify technical solutions to solve business problems * Drive innovation in solutions What We’re Looking For: * Minimum Associates Degree in Software Development * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Experience developing solutions built with any programming language.
