University Communications and Marketing provides strategic leadership to protect, advance, and elevate the university's brand and reputation in Indiana and around the world by creating guiding resources for and collaborating with communications and marketing partners across all IU campuses, schools, departments, and centers.
Job Summary
Indiana University seeks a talented writer to create and edit content as part of the development of a high-priority website in the university's digital ecosystem.
The part-time position reports to the Executive Director of Content Strategy.
The selected candidate must be able to commit to a 16-week project period and attend periodic meetings during the standard work day (9am-5pm ET).
Department Specific Responsibilities
Distills complex information into clear, engaging, and accessible web content for multiple audiences.
Fact checks, proofreads, edits, and optimizes content.
Manages and implements feedback from stakeholders and project leads.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
Associate's degree in communications, marketing, English, public relations, or related field
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, English, public relations, or related field
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
2 years in relevant field (e.
g.
, content creation/production, copywriting, content marketing)
SKILLS
Required
Ability to capture the voice of a brand
Exceptional independent copywriting and/or content creation skills
Experience developing clear, concise, and compelling content specifically for web
Familiarity working with wireframes, page tables, and content plans
Experience independently working with subject matter experts
Knowledge of higher education landscape
Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills
Proficient communication skills
Maintains a high degree of professionalism
Demonstrates a high commitment to quality
Highly thorough and dependable
Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressured timelines
Ability to work quickly under tight deadlines
CMS experience
Work Location
This position is eligible for remote work, subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs.
