*Job description*
NVIC is seeking a *Purchasing* *Specialist* responsible for activities related to the purchasing of materials, supplies, and services required to ensure no interruption to production or general office performance while procuring the highest quality products as the most affordable price available.
*Responsibilities for the Purchasing Specialist include:*
* Purchasing and scheduling of all direct, indirect materials and services throughout the facility
* Correspond with suppliers providing information required
* Drive procurement process improvements
* Quote materials used in plant
* Analyze proposals and provide feedback to management
* Follow-up on back orders; expediting as needed
* Monitor materials ordered on a regular basis to determine proper inventory levels based on usage, production schedule, and supplier lead-time
* Responsible for maintaining data integrity of parts database including pricing and part number changes
* Verify accuracy of company documents
NVIC’s production facility includes vacuum process sand casting, gray iron foundry induction furnaces, finishing processes including grinding and painting, and CNC machining.

*Education/Experience Requirements:*
* High School Diploma or Equivalent
* 3 years work experience in purchasing/contracts
* MPR experience required
* Ability to work autonomously
* Able to prioritize or handle multiple tasks
* Must be proficient with Microsoft Office
* Foster open communication and champion change
*Working Conditions:*
Work area is normally office and a foundry environment with some time spent on the production floor.
Hard-hat, safety glasses, earplugs, and safety boots are required on the production floor.

Pay: $50,000.
