Overview: ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (JXM): Bowhead is seeking an Engineering Technician to work at their Crane, Indiana location.
The Engineering Technician shall apply knowledge of electronic theory and components to perform troubleshooting, repair and maintenance actions on electrical and mechanical systems, subsystems, equipment or components at NSWC Crane Division JXM.
Activities shall include reviewing and updating Crane Operational Procedures, interpreting, or developing system drawings/schematics.
The Engineering Technician shall analyze problems, report problems by electronic communications, request approval to affect repairs, and perform the repair operation.
After each such action, the Contractor shall provide a report to the Government to include problem related information (repair action taken, time, date, place, equipment identification, platform type, and Serial Number, etc.
).
Responsibilities: Soldering certification (examples: IPC J-STD, IPC-610, 2M, etc.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Safety Pre-Op, Hazard Analysis (HA) General knowledge of 6S+ CPR Certification must be obtained within 1 year of onboarding AED Certification must be obtained within 1 year of onboarding Constructing components, subunits, or simple models or adapts standard equipment; may troubleshoot and correct malfunctions; Following specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment.
Conducting various tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement, selecting, preparing, and operating standard test equipment and records test data; Extracting and compiling a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc.
, processing data, identifying errors or inconsistencies, selecting methods of data presentation.
Assisting in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts; developing information concerning previous operational failures and modifications, and using judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seek sources to clarify information Qualifications: Seven to ten (7-10) years of experience with troubleshooting and repair of electronic and mechanical systems and subsystems utilizing standard test equipment.
BA or BS degree in electronics/engineering prefered J-STD 001 or IPC-610 prefered Electronic component level replacement Apply knowledge of electronic theory and components to interpret or develop drawings/schematics and test procedures.
Working knowledge of MACCOR and NHR battery test systems Ability to assess, troubleshoot, and repair electrical or electronic circuitry with little to no documentation, drawings, schematics, or historical data.
Familiarity with calibration (METCAL) Ability to safely use hazardous materials Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 15 to 25 pounds Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level.
US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
