Systems Engineer IV
Position Overview:
Bloom, the insurance industry's trusted growth partner, is looking for an experienced and dedicated Systems Engineer who will be responsible for the design, deployment, and maintenance of physical and virtual servers, as well as ensuring the maximum availability of mission-critical systems and services.
The position is also responsible for tier four (4) end user support.
We are looking for an exceptional individual who can:
Configure and maintain Active Directory infrastructure.
Perform maintenance of web-based applications
Design and build web-based application infrastructures in on-prem VMware, as well as in the cloud in AWS and Azure
Write automated processes for systems infrastructure in languages such as PowerShell or Python
Ensure that in-scope systems meet or exceed relevant regulatory recommendations.
Perform server maintenance including regular server operating system patches and application updates.
Configure and test system backups for multiple systems and recovery scenarios.
Monitor system performance.
Create and maintain system configuration documentation.
Respond to escalated Support requests.
Meet and report on project milestones.
Complete daily monitoring of log files for potential system or security issues
Assist other members of the systems team.
Ensure continuous maintenance of Windows based system images for mass deployment.
Define and recommend policies and procedures for system and services use.
Work with other members of the systems team to help plan, recommend, and implement hardware and software changes.
Mentoring less-experienced engineers
Perform project management for small and large projects.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree in information technology, information systems, MIS, computer science or a related field required or two (2) years of experience in lieu of a degree.
7+ years of experience in a similar role
Required Skills and Abilities
In-depth knowledge of Windows systems (2012R2+)
Working knowledge of Linux operating systems
In-depth knowledge of Windows services including DNS, DHCP, Certificate Services, Active Directory, Group Policy, Internet Information Services (IIS), Network Policy Server
In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP based networks
In-depth knowledge of workstation and server troubleshooting and deployment
Working knowledge of Amazon Web Services
Strong hardware/software troubleshooting skills
Willingness to research, learn, adapt, attend training, and mentor.
